Eight persons have been hospitalized after they were hit with stray bullets during the celebration of Fire Festival in the Mion constituency of the Northern Region.
This unfortunate incident happened in the night of Saturday, August 29, 2020.
According to GhanaVanguard.com‘s reporter in Mion constituency, seven out of the eight victims have been admitted at the Yendi District Hospital whiles the remaining one, who is in critical condition has been transferred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for a critical medical attention.
However, the identity of the victims of the last night incident are yet to be revealed.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to GhanaVanguard‘s reporter in Mion indicated that the culprit intentional fired his weapon into the crowd.
According to eyewitnesses, the culprit, who is yet to be identified has been warned by elders to leave the celebration venue with his gun, which is believed to be a foreign made gun.
The Mion district police command has said it has launched Investigations into the incident.
