Deputy Minister for Information, Mr. Pius Enam Hadzide and the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mr. Samuel Kofi Dzamesi have exposed each other in a separate radio engagements as they both made contradictory statements.
The contradictions that the one-time opponents were caught up in was in relation to protocol allocation to sitting Members of Parliament.
During a radio program on Revival FM in late September, the Deputy Information Minister claimed that Members of Parliament are not allocated any security services protocol slots.
Pius further revealed during the radio program that some MPs do call on him for assistance so they can get protocol slots for their constituents.
“There is no protocol slot for MPs so far as recruitment into security services is concerned but some MPs do come to me for assistance,” Pius stated.
However, during an interview on Nyatefe Radio which was closely monitored by GhanaVanguard.com on Monday, November 9, 2020, the Chieftaincy Minister who is also the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu North revealed that MPs have security services protocol slots allocated to them.
The Minister further alleged that the protocols which are allocated to MPs are sent to Parliament for considerations before the allocation of the slots is done.
“There is protocol provision and slots for MPs . The protocols are sent to parliament for consideration,” the Chieftaincy Minisrer was quoted as saying.
Some constituents in the Ketu North Municipality who noticed the contradictions say it is a clear indication of how the NPP is desperate for political power.
