Chief Sofo Azourka, the National Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned that Ghana may be prone to terrorism, killings and increasing insecurity if the National Security Minister designate, Mr. Kan Dapaah is approved by the appointment committee.
According to Chief Azourka, the numerous insecurity incidents that happened in the country under the watch of Kan Dapaah as minister for national security make him unfit to occupy the position for another term.
“Kan Dapaa, besides his enormous allegations levelled against his person, is not fit to continue assuming his role as the National Security minister,” he wrote in a facebook post sighted by this news website.
He noted that the National Security Minister nominee failed woefully over the last four years that he served as minister in that very important ministry and as a result should not be voted for again to man the ministry.
He added that if Kan Dapaah gets approved by the parliament’s appointment committee, Ghana as a country may begin fighting terrorists whiles the citizens will begin to see increasing state sponsored military brutalities and killings.
“If this man is approved to hold his office again, we should know that we’ve signed terrorism, brutality, state sponsored intimidation and more killings warrant in this country…. I may sound quite antagonistic but time would be the best judge,” he indicated.

He woefully failed Ghanaians in his first four years of service….
It was under his watch that the famous Ayawaso West Wuogon bi-election turned bloody, citizens got shot, a sitting Member of Parliament molested etc and yet a supposed government White Paper decided to overlook the recommendations of the Emily Short led Committee.
It was under his watch that state sponsored military men terrorized Ghanaians who’s only crime was to register for voters card to enable them exercise their constitutionally mandated franchise…
It was under his watch that state used military personnel once again to brutalize Ghanaians voters who wanted to protect their votes and killed as many as they wanted.
It was under his same incompetent tutelage that the military invaded parliament on the eve of the inauguration of the new 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic.
These are but a few list of memorable incidents that were carefully orchestrated by government, their state sponsored militias and the supposed military personnel.
If this man is approved to hold his office again, we should know that we’ve signed terrorism, brutality, state sponsored intimidation and more killings warrant in this country…. I may sound quite antagonistic but time would be the best judge….
