A 14 years old female graduate of Abass D/A Basic School at Manyana in the Assin South District of the Central Region has died of snake bite.

The deceased, Shaku Ussif, according to her brother, went to a nearby bush at about 8pm in the night in search of cellular network so she could be able to check her Senior High School placement online.

She was bitten by a venomous reptile while roaming about in the bush just to get a better network for her handset and died upon late arrival at the hospital.

According to the late Shaku’s brother, network unavailability is one of the major challenges faced by people in the Manyana township and the bush where his younger sister went into before the snake bit her is where people in the community go to to make phone calls and to access the internet.

The bereaved parents of the late student said if not for the challenges faced in transporting their ward to the hospital; their child would have been saved.

The body has since been deposited at the morgue for subsequent collection and burial days to come.
