Member of the national communications team of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and head of the Communications and Public Relations department of the Ministry of Energy, Nana Kofi Oppong Damoah has said that the new anti-covid directives spelled out by president Akufo Addo will not work.

President Akufo Addo, in his 23rd address to the nation announced a ban of funerals, weddings and other activities that involve social gathering.

He left out churches, mosques and schools from the latest directive which is part of efforts to bring the rapid spread of the coronavirus under control.

For Nana Damoah, the ban placed on funerals and weddings is something that most Ghanaians are not willing to accept and therefore will not consider adhering to it.

“Sadly I think that the new directives will not work because people will still not adhere to them. Let’s watch and see,” he wrote in a facebook post on his wall.
