Well resourced social commentator and president of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has finally found a place in his heart to forgive former deputy Attorney General and Attorney General designate, Mr. Godfred Odame for his involvement in the “human right abuse” visited on the people of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi and Likpe.
According to Mr. Cudjoe, he is a man who forgives and have decided to exercise that forgiveness on the former deputy Attorney General after carrying him on for the infringement on the voting rights of the people of SALL.
The people of SALL who are believed to be more than 30,000 were barred from partaking in the parliamentary election in the Hohoe constituency in December last year after a directive was issued from the Jean Mensa-Electoral Commission just a night before the election. They however, voted in the presidential election while constituents in other parts of the Hohoe constituency voted in both elections.
When the matter was taken to the Ho High Court by the NDC parliamentary candidate, Prof. Magaret Kweku and lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata; injunction was placed on the gazetting of the winner of the parliamentary poll. Hon. Godfred Odame, acting as lawyer for the government stood vehemently against the injunction, battled it out with those who applied for it and won.
Godfred Odame’s actions have since angered Mr. Cudjoe who accused him of standing against the voting right of the people of SALL.
“As a man who believes in forgiveness, I have forgiven the Attorney-General designate for being a silent but inimical part of the SALL debacle,” Franklin wrote in a social media post.
He continued by saying he lives the Attorney-General designate into the hands of the appointment committee of parliament, a committee that will sit to examine ministerial portfolio nominees before they are approved or rejected.
“I leave him in the hands of the Appointments Committee and Yesu. Same forgiveness is extended to the LET MY VOTE COUNT niggas and sistas. God dey,” he stated.
