A thief who is serving a four-year prison sentence at a proson in Adomi Senchi in the Eastern Region of Ghana has broken out of jail.

The now-on-the-run prisoner, Enoch Mamfe, according to a report on MyNewsGh.com, escaped the prison after breaking the ceiling in the washroom of the prison and subsequently breaking the roof to escape.

A circuit court at Krobo Odumasi is said to have sentenced Enoch Mamfe to a 48-month prison terms after the court find him guilty of theft.

His escape came after a covid-19 test was conducted on him and other inmates. He however could not know his result as he is currently on the run from authorities.

Police in the Lower Manya Krobo constituency in region are however on the hunt for the prison escapee.
