The new directive to the public health laboratories has been contained in a press release dated January 27 and was signed by Acting Chief Director of the health ministry, Kwabena Bossu Oku-Afari.
The directive however exclude persons who are travellers or are travelling outside the shores of Ghana.
“The Ministry of Health has decided that public covid-19 testing laboratories providing walk-in services can charge ONLY TRAVELLERS for testing,” part of the press release reads.
“All other walk-in requests such as I’ll health, contact tracing and exposure must be done free-of-charge using public health resources,” the letter stated.
