National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s Greater Accra Regional Deputy Youth Organizer, Amorse Blessing Amos has alleged that NPP Members of Parliament have arrived in parliament today, January 15 at 4am.
Amorse, in a social media post said,”NPP MPs arrived in parliament today as early as 4:00am 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.”
Pictures in GhanaVanguard.com‘s possession show some of the NPP lawmakers occupying the seats at the right hand side of the speaker. Some were also sleeping.
Parliament, today will have its first sitting and at this meeting, the side of the house which forms the majority Caucus will be determined as well as which side forms the minority caucus.
Both NPP and NDC have been arguing over who forms majority in parliament after both parties secured 137 seats each in parliament following the December 7, 2020 parliamentary elections which was marred with violence at some parts of the country.
The NDC’s wish to be recognised as majority Caucus in parliament was played out in parliament on January 7 when their 137 lawmakers occupied the seats at the right hand side of the speaker.
