Vice President of IMANI Africa and legal practitioner Kofi Bentil has proposed that the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) needs to be shutdown.

According to him, there are no meaningful reasons that warrant the continuos existence of the ‘often-troubled’ state refinery.

“We’ve said it umpteen times TOR doesn’t have a reason to exist. Shit the mess down!!,” Bentil wrote in a facebook post sighted by GhanaVanguard.com.

Mr. Bentil’s comment came a day after the Interim Management Committee of the oil refinery company issued a press release announcing the interdiction of some workers over the missing of more than 105,000 liters of oil.

The company also reported the mission of more than GHS10 million worth of cables, in what the company describes as “unacceptable product loss.”
