Lawyer and Senior Vice President of IMANI-Ghana, Mr. Kofi Bentil has slammed the Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central, Mr. Henry Quartey for going out to personally handle tasks that Mr. Bentil believes should be handled by his subordinates.
According to the social commentator, the Regional Minister’s duty is to get people to do their job and not he himself going out to the field to supervise tasks which are being executed.
“The job of the Regional Minister is to ensure that those whose jobs it is, do it or lose their jobs,” he wrote on facebook.
Mr. Bentil continued, adding; “when you see your Managing Director cleaning the office; it is not a sign of his great diligence and leadership effectiveness, it is a sign of his failure at making the cleaner work and you know it won’t be a lasting solution.
The MD who gets the cleaner to work is the better one.
We’ve been here before it always failed, but we don’t learn from history, so we repeat it’s mistakes!!!”
On Sunday, April 10, 2021, Mr. Quartey kick-started his “Let’s make Accra work” campaign which is aimed at decongesting the Central Business District of the region.
The campaign started, with the regional minister on site watching, as bulldozers clear concrete pavements whiles task force members chase away those who sell on the road and destruct free flow of traffic.
