President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has been advised by University of Ghana p political science lecturer, Prof. Ransford Yaw Gyampo to lock down the country for two weeks.

According to the university don, it appears the fight against covid in the country has been lost and therefore the need to initiate another lockdown in order to check the spread of the coronavirus.

He cited the the unfortunate conduct of some Members of Parliament who fail to isolate themselves despite testing positive of the virus as an indication that the fight against the virus has been lost.

“Looking at the conduct of some MPs; looking at the fact that our borders remain widely open even though we are told they are closed; and looking at the fact that the measures instituted at our airports have failed to prevent the importation of the deadly U.K. and South African strains of the COVID to our country Ghana, it appears decidedly clear that we have lost the battle against COVID.”

“Mr President, whiles we await vaccines, please lock us down for two weeks and let us all be hungry. By the time we are unlocked, we will be serious,” he stated on Facebook.

He added that what the nation is doing currently as fighting the virus is just a joke ad the real fight against the disease has been lost.

“For now, we are merely pussyfooting a fight we have already lost,” he claimed.
