The immediate past Member of Parliament for Kumpungu constituency in the Northern Region, Hon. Ras Mubarak has revealed how the majority group leader in parliament and lawmaker for Suame Constituency, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu refused his umbrella when he [Osei Kyei] visited his house during downpour.
According to Hon. Mubarak, Mr. Kyei refused to usr the umbrella offered him to use simply because the umbrella is the symbol of the oppostion National Democratic Congress (NDC), a political party he opposes.
Hon. Mubarak revealed this to celebrate the majority leader who turned a year older yesterday, February 4, 2021.
“Majestic looking Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Minister designate for Parliamentary Affairs.
We’ve disagreed on just about everything political, but that hasn’t affected our friendship and deep respect we have for each other.
The man who will visit my house in the rain, but refuse an offer of an umbrella because it is the symbol of the great NDC, a political party he’s opposed to; that’s Hon. Kyei Mensah for you,” he wrote in a social media post.
Hon. Mubarak further showered praises on the Suame Constituency lawmaker, describing him as a beast in politics and a person whose dedication to parliamentary service should be commended.
“Witty, opinionated and a big beast in politics. Love him or loath him, he’s committed to the institution of parliament and has contributed immeasurably, especially to many of the laws passed since he’s been in parliament,” he stated.
