The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Mfantseman Constituency of the Central Region, Madam Ophelia Quansah Mensah has been captured on Electoral Commission’s special voting list of the constituency.
Madam Ophelia who replaces her late husband, Hon. Ekow Hartford Quansah who was shot dead by armed robbers a month ago has her name captured as an early voter.
This means, she as a Parliamentary Candidate will be voting on December 1 in a move that many believed is against the Constitution.
Madam Ophelia resigned from the Police Service to take over his husband’s position as PC, days after the horrific murder of his husband who was the Parliamentary Candidate and incumbent Member of Parliament for the area.
It is however believed that the retired Senior Police Officer registered as special voter when she was still in the Police service before her unplanned resignation.
GhanaVanguard.com could not immediately tell whether corrections will be made by the EC to take off Madam Ophelia’s name from the special voting list.
