The Member of Parliament for North North Constituency in the Volta Region and member of the 8th parliament’s appointment committee, Hon. Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa has shot down claims that some of president Akufo Addo’s ministerial nominees have been given the nod.
Rumours were in circulation among a section of Ghanaians that some of the nominees have already been already voted for to serve as ministers in the ministries they have been appointed to handle.
Reacting to these rumours, the vibrant opposition lawmaker took to his social media handles to inform Ghanaians that since the vetting begun last week, no voting has ever taken place.
“Members of Parliament’s Appointments Committee are yet to vote on any of the nominees who have appeared before us thus far. Kindly ignore rumours to the contrary,” he stated on his facebook wall.
He added that; “I believe good conscience, expectations of the people we represent and our country’s supreme interest should and will remain our guiding principle. 🇬🇭 🙏🏽.”
