Former Presidential aspirant on the ticket of the oppostion National Democratic Congress (NDC) and communications team member of the NDC, Stephen Atubiga has hinted the public about his intentions to contest in the 2024 presidential primaries of the party.
Atubiga, in 2018 laced his boot to contest John Mahama, Sylvester Mensah, Prof. Joshua Alabi and others for the party’s Flagbearer position ahead of the 2020 general election before pulling out of the race to throw his weight behind Mahama.
However, he seems to be preparing himself again to contest in the party’s 2024 Flagbearer race.
He was forced to reveal his intention when rumors were making rounds on social media that Vice President Bawumia is likely to not be chosen to lead the party after president Akufo-Addo’s last term comes to end in 2024.
According to Atubiga, he would love to contest Dr. Bawumia in the 2024 elections. This, he said is something he has been craving for all these years.
“I have been craving so so bad in facing Bawumia in the 2024 presidential election,” he revealed in a social media post sighted by your trusted GhanaVanguard.com.
He further sounded a word of caution to the NPP to not betray Dr. Bawumia as they did to the late former Vice President, Aliu Mahama.
“NPP must not betray Bawumia like they did to Aliu,” he said.

NPP must not betray Bawumia like they did to Aliu.
He deserves loyalty and hardworking reward to face me 2024.
I have been craving so so bad in facing Bawumia in the 2024 presidential election.
As I would be taking over from JDM finishing his last term in office 2025 7th January.
The justices must do the needful. Time will tell.
