President of the Republic of Ghana and reigning Chairman of the regional bloc ECOWAS, H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has been honored by his Sierra Leonean counterpart with the highest national award in Sierra Leone.
The honour, Grand Commander of the Republic of Sierra Leone was confered on President Akufo-Addo by President Julius Maada Bio in recognition of his contribution to rule of law and democracy in Ghana.
President Akufo Addo was in Sierra Leone Tuesday, April 27, to grace the 60th independence anniversary of the country in his capacity as ECOWAS chair.
Other recipients of the same honor were; President George Weah of the Republic of Liberia, President Adama Barron of the Republic of The Gambia, and President Umaro Sissaco Embalo of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
Some officials, including the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ms. Ayorkor Ashley Botwe were in the president’s delegation to the country.
