“Sir John embarrasses me with kindness whenever he invites me to his office” – Prof. Gyampo.

Renowned academic and social commentator, Prof. Gyampo has paid an emotional tribute to the late CEO of Forestry Commission, Sir John who passed away yesterday, July 1, 2020 while on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Prof. Gyampo described the late Sir John as being among the very few politicians who have kept Ghana’s peace, by promoting consensus building and minimizing adversarial politics.

In a long social media post he made earlier today to celebrate the memory of the late statesman, the renowned academic narrated how the later often embarrasses him with all kinds of kindness whenever he invited him [Prof. Gyampo] to his office at the Forestry Commission.

“I almost thought of sending him a text yesterday morning about an issue. But I later felt it was more appropriate to go see him in person. My plan was to go see him on Friday because, he told me he has more time to share his usual jokes on Friday late afternoons.
