The late founder of Ghana and great Pan Africanist, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s son, Sekou Nkrumah has admonished the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo to be serious with the governance of the country.
His comment was in reaction to the appointment of Hon. Mavis Koomson by the president to serve as the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture.
Sekou believes that nominating Hawa Koomson as Fisheries Minister designate is a sign of President Akufo Addo and his party’s unseriousness in the governance of the country whose independence was fought for by his father, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and others.
“The president and the NPP should sit up and get serious with their job and stop displaying such mediocracy!,” he wrote in a facebook post sighted by GhanaVanguard.com.
He is also of the view that the appointment of Hawa Koomson who is the the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East constituency is strange as she is someone who knows nothing about what she is appointed to superintend over.
“In fact it is very strange that President Nana Addo will pick someone who has no understanding of issues that relate to the job she is assigned to!,” Sekou noted.
Sekou further advocated for the outright rejection of the minister designate whom he said has “flopped” at her vetting last week.
“The woman flopped at the vetting and should be rejected outright!,” he advocated.
The fierce critique of the late Former President Rawlings concluded by mentioning the likes of Mallam Issah of PNC and the opposition NDC’s Hon. Muntaka as persons whose appointments and subsequent failures the president should learn from when it comes to making ministerial portfolio appointments.
