Stop being bias in formation of committees – Speaker Alban Bagbin told.

0

The Deputy Communications Director at the Office of the Vice President, Mr. Maxwell Krobea Asante has accused the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin of being bias in the formation of parliamentary committees.

According to Mr. Maxwell, it is too early for the Hon. Speaker to expose himself.

His comment was a reaction to the recently released list of compositions of parliamentary committees which saw the 1st Deputy Speaker being added to a committee majority.

Below is his full post

Speaker Alban Bagbin should stop the bias in the formation of committees.

How on earth can a deputy speaker be added to the membership of majority group when the framers of the standing orders knew he is the rep of the Speaker there so has no original vote?

Is he telling me that a committee chaired by a 2nd deputy speaker will make him a member of the majority side on the committee?

They chair specific committees as ex officio members and not because a caucus has nominated them on the committees.

Did the majority group name Joe wise as part of their members on the committee?

It is too early to expose yourself Mr. Speaker. Do the right thing Sir.
