The reverend King of the Ashanti Kingdom and Overlord of all Asantes, Otumfo Osei Tutu II has revealed that the duopoly of NPP and NDC in Ghanaian politics will not end to day.
Since Ghana was ushered into constitutional rule by the late Former president Jerry John Rawlings in 1992, the only political parties that have been ruling are the NDC, which is founded by Rawlings and the NPP which is founded by former president J.A Kuffour.
Many political parties have since been emerging with the aim of winning the heart of the masses so that they can win presidential elections in order to bring to an end the duopoly enjoyed by NPP and NDC over the years.
However, for the Ashanti Overlord, whether Ghanaians including himself like it or not; it is only the NDC and NPP that will interchangeably be handling the affairs of the country.
“…I am not an NPP or NDC. Whether we like it or not the two parties will continue to govern the country but it is also my interest and duty to ensure that peace prevails.” Asantehene was quoted by MyNewsGh.com as saying.
