Tributes pour in for John Mahama’s late Security Chief, Goka Mohammed.

Yesterday, February 13, 2021, news of the sudden demise of Mr. Goka Mohammed who was the Chief Security Officer for former president John Dramani Mahama made waves.

According to reports, the security capo died in a hospital in Accra after battling an undisclosed ailment for just a short period.

He was with John Mahama in the flagstaff house and then to Mahama’s residence after he [Mahama] lost the 2016 presidential election to president Akufo Addo who has been re-elected for a second term in a now-contested 2020 presidential election.

However, tributes have since started pouring in from the top notches of the NDC who knew Mr. Goka all this while.

Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Hon. Sam George described him as a person of jovial personality whom he had worked with at the flagstaff house in the Mahama administration. He further indicated that his death saddens his heart.

The National Vice Chairman of the NDC party, Chief Sofo Azorka has also paid tribute to the late Goka. He indicated that Mr. Goka fought a good fight and stood by all his principles all these years till his last breath yesterday.

Mr. Goka has since been buried in accordance with Islamic laws that governs the decease and how they are buried.

An Islamic prayer event is scheduled to be held for his memory in his residence at Abokobi in Accra on Monday, February 15, 2021.
