Uphold The Islamic Principles And Educate Your Children – Kwaku Bonsam Urges Muslims
A Popular Asante traditional priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam is urging muslims in Ghana to do away with awkward behavior contrary to the Islamic teachings and principles.
He gave this advice at the 3rd annual district conference and fundraising ceremony organised by the Offinso North branch of Ghana Muslim mission on Sunday Nov. 8, 2020 at Darso.
The traditionalist delivering his speech noticed the greatness of Islam and asked muslims to adhere to the laid down teachings of the revered faith without compromise.
“Islam is a vast religion, no child play in it, I use to fight with christians, but have you ever seen me fighting a muslim before? It’s because some of the christians lie a lot”
“I wish to appeal to muslim women to let their children’s be in Islamic education (makaranta) be their priority in order not to lose sight of your guiding principles”
He again criticised improper dressing by young zongo girls, urging them to desist from that.
“You will go to Zongo and see Fati displaying her butts with stretch, shaking them to public view, you should stop those things, it is unislamic”, he admonished to cheers of the gathering.
The fund raising ceremony was to mobilise funds for construction of an Islamic Senior High School in the district, which the fetish priest and phylantropist assured of his massive contribution to the course. The now politician who is seeking mandate of the people of Offinso North to serve as member of parliament did not forget to touch on some projects he is executing with his own funds in the district.
Most recent of his projects is the on-going construction of the Akumadan bridge which have been lying in books for over a decade. The bridge estimated to cost several millions of cedis is among bunch of others such as markets, toilets and educational facilities he has provided to prove his commitment when given the mandate as Mp.
Present at the occasion was colleague candidates, Mr. Ceasar Ofosu Acheampong, Charles Boateng K. Sumaila known as ‘fine boy’ , DCE Hon. David Kwasi Asare and Fmr. DCE offinso north Hon Dr Samuel Kojo Appiah Kubi jr. On behalf of the member of parliament and deputy minister for local government, Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim, the DCE presented 20 mattes, hand sanitizers and amount of GH¢ 2,000.00 to the muslims and promised of supporting the course of Islamic SHS within the means of the assembly.
Like all of the candidates present did, the DCE David Asare also also solicited for votes for his MP/PC Augustine Ntim in the more intense race they are facing.
The two independent candidates Hon. Kwabena Boateng Sumaila ‘aka’ “fine boy” and Nana Kwaku Bonsam othewise known as ‘Kofi ‘oo’ kofi’ appear to be making impact in the contest making it more competitive and an uphill task for incumbent Collins Ntim of NPP and NDC’s Acheampong Caesar.
Candidates for the NDP and PNC whose addition make 6 in total of the Offinso North parliamentary race seem to be lost as little or nothing is being heard of them.
