IMANI Africa, a renowned policy think thank on the Africa continent has indicated that it will not be speaking against the controversial Public University Bill which was passed yesterday in Parliament any longer.
The president of the organization, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe made the organization’s position on what he describes as a “draconian” bill known in a social media post sighted by GhanaVanguard.com.
According to Franklin, since the approval of the bill in parliament yesterday, December 15, many individuals have been calling on IMANI Africa to speak vehemently against it just as the organization did in the past.
However, the organization and its leaders are not ready to do so at this time.
The organization and its resourceful leaders believe that authorities in the public universities should all alone handle the situation.
“I see many are tagging IMANI folks to add its voice to the draconian Public Universities bill. We did earlier. This time the dons in the unis should carry their own cross too,” Franklin wrote on his Facebook wall.
