A young man who is believed to be in his late 20s has been severely beaten by some angry persons for allegedly stealing huge quantity of weed.
This brutal and criminal incident took place yesterday July 9 at Kyeremateng Yoyim which is a farming community close to Nkurakan in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region.
According to sources who spoke to GhanaVanguard.com, the victim whose name was given as Bismark Asare was subjected to the brutal attack in the dawn of yesterday by the mob numbering around 10.
The brother to the victim who witness the assault indicated that his attempt to save his brother failed as he [Bismark’s brother] was pounced on as well.
He informed the Nkurakan Police upon which Police were quickly dispatched to the scene and met the victim beaten to a pulp and abandoned to his fate in a pool of blood.
He was rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua where he is currently on admission.
The victim’s speech has been impaired as a result of a head injury suffered hence yet to narrate exactly what happened to Police.
The acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Sgt. Francis Gomado says efforts are underway to arrest the suspects.
