The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has descended heavily on the now-suspended immediate past General Secretary of the party and CEO of Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho for saying John Mahama should hand over to him [Ofosu Ampofo].
Koku Anyidoho, last week launched another attack on the former president, calling him to handover his authority in the party to the National Chairman whom he said has the capacity of redeeming the party.
Responding to Anyidoho’s comment, Mr. Ampofo said angrily that he [Anyidoho] has no authority or capacity to detect to the national executives of the party as to what should be done.
According to Mr. Ampofo, the NDC as a political party has a constitution and what the constitution says about leadership of the party is clearly known to the national executives and therefore; it’s not Anyidoho who will tell anybody what to do.
“…Koku Anyidoho said; ‘John Mahama, you’re no longer the leader of NDC, hand over to Ofosu Ampofo to come and redeem the party. …It’s not you, Koku Anyidoho who will tell us what the NDC constitution says. We have a constitution and we know what the constitution says and what the constitution says is very clear,” he said Thursday, March 11, 2021, when speaking on Accra-based Ahotor FM monitored by Ghana Vanguard.
He further advised party sympathizers to do well to ignore whatever comes out from the mouths of Koku Anyidoho and former Central Regional Chairman of the party, Jacob Allotey.
