A disinfection officer on the job

High ranking member of the parliament’s foreign affairs committee and Member of Parliament for Noth Tongu District of the Volta Region, Hon. Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa has tasked the Zoomlion Disinfection Team to disinfect all the five Senior High Schools in the North Tongu District.

According to the Hon. Okudzeto, the disinfection team will carry out the disinfection exercise across all the five school multiple times and on daily basis.

This the opposition MP said will ensure that students, teaching and non-teaching staff, polling agents, EC officials, security personnel and the media are all kept safe and protected from COVID-19.

The five Senior High Schools in the North Tongu district that will see this daily disinfection exercise are; Mepe St. Kizito Senior High Technical School, Battor SHS, Dorfor SHS, Aveyime-Battor SHS and one private school.

Hon. Okudzeto made this laudable decision following the decision of the Jean Mensah led Electoral Commission to do voter ID registration for eligible students on their campuses across the country.

The former Deputy Education minister also added that even though he remain vehemently opposed to students being kept in school considering the increasing COVID-19 cases in the country; he will contribute his widows might towards the safety of the students in particular for the time being as he together with his colleague opposition MPs continue to advocate for the closure of schools.
