Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister under former president John Mahama administration, Joseph Yammin has alleged that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who is a Muslim refuses to comment on recent discriminations against Muslims in the country due to his presidential ambition.
According to him, the Vice President is not observing the Holy Month of Ramadan and if he does, he must condemn the authorities of Wesley Girls Senior High School who refused to let Muslim students in the school observe their holy month which is characterized by more than ten hours of fasting.
“Bawumia, because he unfortunately wants to become president, he turned his face against any form of intimidation or harassments against Muslims. He doesn’t even talk about them at all and the Muslim community is (sic) sitting down and not asking Bawumia why…”
“Recently was the Wesley Girls students. Muslims’ Holy Month of Ramadan, they stopped the children [Muslim students] from observing the fast. We have a vice president who is currently observing Ramadan…I suspect that he is not doing the fasting, if he’s doing it, by now he would have spoken”
