Members of the Western Togoland secessionists group, a group that seeks to seceed Volta, Oti, part of Upper East and Northern regions from Ghana have blocked the Aflao to Accra main road at Sogakope.
The blockee which started at midnight caused lot of traffic as vehicles going to Accra and those coming from Accra have been grounded by the secessionists, who at the time of filing this report show no sign of backing down.
According to a passenger, Seyram, who spoke to GhanaVanguard, they [passengers] have no other options than to return to their homes as the Western Togoland group members refuse to let any car cross.
The passenger however, added that soldiers have been deployed to the scene and their efforts to get the secessionists to remove the roadblocks is not yielding any results.
Speaking to a local radio station which GhanaVanguard monitored, member of the Communications team of the group, Bestway Zottor confirmed the incident.
He added that they are very aware of the incident. He further mentioned some other roads that have been blocked the group members.
