The National Democratic Party (NDP)’s Parliamentary Candidate in the Ketu North Constituency, Gilbert Kassah is all set to wrestle the Ketu North Parliamentary seat from the incumbent, Hon. Dr. James Klutse Avedzi of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Gilbert Kassah, a 27 years old graduate of the University of Ghana is a new comer in Ketu North politics and stands on the ticket of Konadu-Agyemang Rawlings -led NDP.
However, he is so optimistic of winning the Ketu North seat which many believed will be fought fiercely for by the incumbent, Dr. James Klutse Avedzi and the ruling NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Hon. Samuel Kofi Dzamesi who is also the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
Speaking exclusively to GhanaVanguard.com, Gilbert Kassah indicated that Ketu North constituency boasts of things which when tapped into will bring fortune to constituents.
Gilbert noted that produce from the large oil palm plantations in Dzodze, the district capital can be processed into finished products such as frytol and red oil for human consumption. He however said for that reason, Dzodze needs a factory for the processing of palm product.
As Penyi and Adzortsi are well recognized for their farming in cassava and rice respectively, Gilbert said it will be good for the two towns to have factories that will be used to process the produce that come from these towns.
Gilbert further took a swipe at the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Dr. James Klutse Avedzi for the woes the constituents face.
According to Gilbert, Avedzi does not have the vision to change the situation in the constituency.
