Investigative Journalist and author of more than two books, Manasseh Azure Awuni has received an award in excellence journalism from the Millennium Excellence Foundation’s President’s Outstanding Youth Prize 2020.

The award was a recognition of the journalist’s efforts to use investigative journalism to weed out corrupt officials from society.

In a citation received by Abdul Hayi Moomen on behalf of Manasseh Azure, the foundation described Azure as a giant of his own stature and a hero of the majority of Ghanaians whose voices are not head.

“A giant of your own stature, you are the epitome Of a patriot and the hero of the unspoken majority,” part of the citation reads.

A giant of your own stature, you are the epitome Of a patriot and the hero of the unspoken majority. You have exhibited great bravado and unflinching adherence to your journalistic principles and personal convictions in defending the good name of Ghana in situations many can only remotely shudder to think about.
