The lifeless body of a man, believed to be in his mid 30s has been found in a gutter that opens into a river Suntre in the North Suntreso Electoral Area of Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
The body, according to the Assemblyman of the Electoral Area, Mr. Gripa, who spoke exclusively to GhanaVanguard.com, has been found in the early hours of Sunday, September 27, 2020.
The body was put in two sacks and tied with robe, a clear indication that the man was killed.
According to the Assemblyman of the area, the deceased was not a resident of the community and nobody knew or had seen him in the area before. He however, added that the man was killed elsewhere.
“…the person was killed, he was killed because they tied him even before he was put in two sacks.”
“… he’s not really a resident. The assumption is that they killed him somewhere and there is a river around North Suntreso called Suntre River so the assumption is that they wanted to throw him and then expect that once the rain comes, it carries the dead body away…” the Assemblyman was quoted as saying.
The body has since been deposited at the morgue as authorities hope of finding relatives of the deceased.
The Police however, have launched investigations in order to bring the perpetrators to books.
