Nominees who ever made false claims against John Mahama must be rejected – Edem Agbana to NDC lawmakers on Appointment Committee.

Deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edem Agbana says any of the ministerial portfolio nominees who ever insulted and levelled baseless claims against John Mahama should be voted against.

Few of president Akufo Addo’s nominees were on record of accusing former president Mahama of doing certain things which the NDC sees no iota of truth in.

The Minister for Energy designate, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, once accused Mahama of being behind the busing of students and their parents to the Independent Square some time ago to register their displeasures when the schools computerized placement system misbehaved. Parents and students cried and weep when they were at the Independent Square.

Dr. Mathew Opoku, who was the Education Minster at the time has since retracted the false accusation and apologized to the former president when he appeared before the parliament appointment committee for vetting.

Defense Minister designate, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul is also one of the appointees who was caught in the making claims that John Mahama purchased military lands. He also has since apologized to the former president for his comment after failing to prove to the vetting committee that Mahama indeed purchased military land.

However, for Edem Agbana, those nominees who are found of hurling all manner of words at the former president must be made to first retract and apologize to the former president for the baseless claims levelled against his person and subsequently get voted against by the NDC composition of the appointment committee.

In a facebook post sighted by GhanaVanguard.com, Edem wrote; “Even before we look at your CV, my philosophy is that, any ministerial nominee who has ever insulted or made frivolous allegations against John Dramani Mahama must be made to RETRACT, APOLOGIZE & still REJECTED. ‘GO & SIN NO MORE’!”
